We all know sleeping is essential for our body to function properly. It is generally estimated that for our body to be in its optimal state, we must sleep for about 8 hours every night. However, sleeping is not the only thing that matters though. Recent research suggests that it is vital that we sleep in a proper position. So, here are nine positions which you can sleep in which will help you to relive different pains and other issues:
Pain In Neck
If you are suffering from any pain localized near your neck region, then put a rolled-up towel just under the neck. This will help ease out the pain.
Pain in Back
If your back is aching most of the time, then all you need to do is curve the back and put a towel there. Also, you need to put a pillow just under the knees to get relief from pain in your back.
Pain in Shoulders
You should try to sleep with your knees bent when you have a pain localized near your shoulder. Never try to sleep on the side which is paining. For extra comfort, add a pillow just between the knees. If you can, also grab another pillow and put in near your chest – it will act as the perfect support.
Pain During PMS
When you are experiencing cramps and pain during your menstrual cycle, all you need to do is put a pillow just under the knees and then, sleep on the back. This will ease out the pain. It will also lessen any kind of spinal cord pain.
Headaches
If you are going through a terrible headache, then you can’t sleep at all. The best way to try and lower it is by putting pillows right around the neck. It will support your neck and also, help to bring down the headache.
When Your Blood Pressure Is High
High blood pressure is a problem that nobody wants. It’s best to address it and if you can do so by changing your sleeping position, then more power to you. Try sleeping on your stomach and keep your face down – this will keep your blood pressure levels down to a manageable level.
Problems with Sinus
Sinus issues will make sleeping a difficult thing to do. But you can try to help it by making a bit of a position change. Try to sleep with your head being slightly elevated. This will prevent any mucus leak and also, prevent further issues from taking place.
Problems With Digestion
Sleep on your left if you are facing issues with digestion. This will make your sleep much better too and improve your digestion as well.
Heartburn
For heartburns, trying sleeping on the same side as above – that is the left side. It will bring a little bit of much-needed relief.
So, have a healthy sleep by just altering your position. Simple, isn’t it?
